Using this website means accepting these terms. In short: Loans Edmonton is a free publication with a referral link, it does not lend or advise, and any payday or installment loan you sign afterwards is a contract between you and a licensed lender under Alberta and federal law.
What you are using
Loans Edmonton is an independent publisher that explains how small loans work for people in Edmonton and the rest of Alberta. It holds no payday loan business licence because it makes no loans, takes no applications and decides nothing about credit. The apply link leaves this domain for a platform that licensed Canadian lenders use to receive applications.
Accuracy and updates
We write from the Consumer Protection Act (Alberta), Part 12.1, the Payday Loans Regulation, the federal Criminal Interest Rate Regulations and what Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction publishes. The date at the top of each page records its last review. If a page here and a lender's cost of credit disclosure disagree, the disclosure binds you. Walk away from any payday cost above $14 per $100 or any installment APR above 35%.

The referral relationship
When a loan funds for someone who arrived through this site, the lender pays us a referral fee, and that is our whole income. The fee sits between the lender and us; it adds nothing to what you pay and we never bill you. The referral disclosure spells it out and the privacy page describes what the link sends.
Your agreement is with the lender
Every loan you take is a contract with the lender named on the agreement, under Alberta law. For a payday loan that means Part 12.1 of the Consumer Protection Act and the Payday Loans Regulation. The lender must hold a payday loan business licence for each location, issued through Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction, and a licence is not a government endorsement.
The statute, not these terms, gives you: instalments spread over at least 42 and at most 62 days, on at least three paydays if you are paid biweekly or semi monthly; cancellation until the end of the second day after the lender gives you a copy of the agreement; no rollover and no new payday loan to pay out an old one; prepayment at any time without charge; and on default no more than 2.5% a month simple interest plus one fee for a dishonoured payment.
An installment loan runs on its own agreement under the federal 35% ceiling. If a lender behaves badly, the complaints policy says who to contact.

Acceptable use
You may read the site, link to it and quote short passages with credit. You may not reproduce whole pages, scrape them or use them in unsolicited messages. The pages are written for adults; the age of majority in Alberta is 18.
Limits on liability
The site is offered as it is. We accept no liability for decisions you make after reading it, for the acts of any lender or the platform, or for either being unavailable when you need them. Where Alberta or federal law does not allow such a limit, it does not apply.

Changes
These terms change when the law or the site does. Using the site after a change is acceptance of the new terms. Questions go through the contact page, and the about page says who we are.
